As a supporter of the arts in Virginia, we want you to be the first to hear about the "Arts Build Communities" Campaign of Virginians for the Arts (VFTA) and the Virginians for the Arts Foundation.   The goal of the "Arts Build Communities" Campaign is to build visibility and public support for the arts in Virginia and use that support to increase funding for the Virginia Commission for the Arts as well as arts organizations across the state.   Intially, we are reaching out to the people who are in some way already involved in the arts... some 6,100-plus "arts lovers," of which you are one! These 6,100 are the people who should be the most informed about the state of the arts in Virginia, and we are asking them to lend their names to tell others about the importance of the arts in the lives of every Virginian and in every Virginia community.   The first phase of the campaign consists of the following:

1. Direct Mail- Three postcards will be mailed at intervals to 4,000+ members of board of directors of Virginia arts organizations.
2. Subscribers to VFTA's 2,090-person email list will receive an on-line survey asking for their support for the campaign. Bumper Stickers will be mailed to respondents who agree to add their name to the campaign.
3. Information on "Arts Build Communities" is available at VFTA website: www.vaforarts.org/ABC
4. Web stickers can be downloaded from the VFTA website and used on other arts related sites.
5. A series of ads, some sized for playbills and others for various print formats are also available on the VFTA website. They may be used in programs, playbills, newsletters mailings, mini-posters, etc.
6. Visitors to the website may sign up to support the campaign and will receive a bumper sticker in return.

Please help us spread the word about the "Arts Build Communities" Campaign! If you are directly involved with an arts organization, encourage them to pick up an ad from the Virginians for the Arts website for use in a program, playbill, or newsletter. Share this information with other friends of the arts.
