Students meet weekly on the campus of Old Dominion University to prepare a challenging program of contemporary band literature. Over a 2 month period, students develop a working relationship with other like-minded young musicians as well as the conductor and staff of HRYWE. The HRYWE experience fosters a professional work ethic and a spirit of excellence, allowing students to further their own personal, professional, and musical growth. Students incorporate these skills into their lives and enhance their respective school band programs, making HRYWE a source of community pride, celebrating the talent and spirit of our youth in Hampton Roads.
