This includes the development of the general plan, through the 'Framework for the Future' process, and action taken on applications for use permits and change of zoning. It staffs the Planning Commission, the Hilton Village Architectural Review Board, the North End Huntington Heights Architectural Review Board, and is the lead agency in implementing the requirements of the Chesapeake Bay Preservation Act.
The mission of the Planning Department is to create a more livable , economically healthy and beautiful city through good planning, citizen participation and excellent customer service.
