Rehearsals are Tuesday evenings from 7 to 9:30 pm at the Scottish Rite Masonic Center in Newport News.
Publick Times Chorus of Sweet Adelines International is a nonprofit organization for women of all ages who like to harmonize a cappella in the barbershop style. If you're looking for the fun and satisfaction of singing and performing Broadway showtunes and popular music of yesterday and today...then Sweet Adelines is for you!
Publick Times Chorus was founded in Williamsburg, Virginia, chartered in 1973 and has consistently placed in the top five in five-state regional competitions. The purpose of the organizatio is to educate women in the art of singing four-part harmony, barbershop style, without instrumental accompaniment and give public and private performances to promote the interest, development and general appreciation of the art of barbershop harmony.
Sweet Adelines International is a nonprofit, international, educational barbershop harmony organization for women. The organization was formed in 1947 and today has nearly 30,000 members in over 600 choruses in the United States, Australia, Canada, England, Finland, Germany, Japan, Mexico, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Scotland and Sweden.
